Urge Congress to Provide COVID Relief to Help Gyms Survive
Updated: Nov 25, 2020
As you know, government actions around the COVID-19 pandemic have devastated local gyms, putting thousands of gyms at risk of closing forever.
To help CrossFit boxes survive, CrossFit recently helped launch the Community Gyms Coalition, an alliance of more than 15,000 local fitness facilities, which is urging Congress to provide up to $30 billion in direct relief to help local gyms survive and recover.
Unlike other relief programs, our proposal would provide gyms with direct grants to help them match their full 2019 revenue. It would also allow gym owners to use the grants to pay for all their major expenses, including trainers, rent, insurance, software, and equipment.
To convince Congress to support this approach, we need your help.
Please take five minutes to send an email to your members of Congress to urge them to include direct support for gyms in any upcoming relief legislation.
After you contact your representatives, please share this email with your gym members, trainers, employees, friends, and the broader community and ask them to contact their representatives as well.
With timely action, Congress can help keep our gyms healthy through this crisis so we can keep America healthy after it.
Thank you for your support,
Brett Ewer Director of Government Relations CrossFit LLC
